Wai, Town of Temples
Wai, the place located near Mahabaleshwar....
Wai is not as cool as Mahabaleshwar but the temperature is very pleasant. It is easily approachable to villages and cities like Pune, Karhad, Mumbai too.
The place is under development. M.I.D.C. is in the process of development. Hotel industries are exploring the area for the expansion. Citizens are opting for higher education in better places and are coming back to their own place..... to share the knowledge and help the progress. The place has grown in all the directions and acquiring the Brand New face....... still keeping the nature as it was before....
Wai is also known as " Dakshin Kashi" because of the number of temples in the city.Irrespective of the progress and changes this place has gone through.... few things are unchanged.. rather people who come to Wai, adopt the traditions! You will surely find the bond, connection and heart in the people living here.
Wai is also famous for the festival of Krishnabai. River Krishna is prayed in the form of statue every year for almost two months.
This town of temples is also a famous spot for Hindi/ Marathi serials and movies like Gangajal, Mrityudand, etc. Expenses are economical, people are co-operative and place is within reach and almost all facilities are available. These reasons have made this place a favorite spot for film industry.

ANC classes
Wai is a Taluka place surrounded by numerous villages. Similar to other villages there is lack of awareness and education as far as the health of girl/ female is concerned.
Usually girls get married at an early age and conceive withing an year or so.... Due to lack of education and social barriers girls do not talk openly about their problems. Before and during pregnancy, healthy body and mind are important which is usually neglected. There are lots of misunderstandings and dis-beliefs. All this affects the health of the mother.
To come over this issue, Ghotavadekar Hospital has taken one more step. We have started with ANC classes for pregnant females in surrounding area. These lectures are Free of Charge and Open for all.
Though we cover various topics during these lecture series, our main focus in on health of the mother and baby. We guide them about the dietary requirements, exercises which make the delivery easy, precautions to be taken during and after those fabulous nine months. We also guide them about medical aspects, changes happening in the body, how the development takes place and many more.
Lectures are taken in the premises of the hospital on every Third Thursday of every month.
